Looking for a small pocket carry fixed blade. I already have an Izula. I'm looking for something a tad larger and have narrowed it down to one of these two. Which would you prefer and why?

1. Bark River Bravo Necker 2 in CPM3V. 3.5" blade. 7" overall. With the optional G10 scales total cost is $160.

2. Swamp Rat Rodent Solutions. 3.5" blade. 8.25" overall. Comes with micarta scales. $108.

I'm leaning towards the Bark River, but I'm not sure of the steel differences. Also, the Bark River is over an inch shorter with same size blade. CPM3V is a stainless, but it's thin at .130". The SR is their proprietory 52100 high carbon and is 185" thick, and I'm guessing is a tougher, more hard use steel.

Thoughts? Opinions?

You guys are too slow. I got the Satin finish Necker 2 with G10 Tiger Stripe scales.

One thing I think you should have thought about is what you intended purpose for the knife would be, and how easy is it to maintain the blade, and sharpen it. A lot of these high end stainless steel are a nightmare to sharpen. So good luck!

I'm with you on that. I hate the really hard super steels too. The 3v is supposed to be fairly easy to sharpen. I think it's "super" quality is it's toughness more than it's edge retention. I'll know soon enough.
