Help me decide. . .

Hi guys, I figure that it is due time I get a new knife, and of course it has to be a Becker. So I have narrowed it down to The BK-10 and the BK-17. I know the new BK-10 is not out yet but I also know that some of you guys have the KA-BAR LE ones and the old Camilus ones. So which one would you guys recommend for outdoor use like battoning, whittling, and skinning deer and things like that. As well as EDC use?

I'd say, if you want to batton as well as skin a deer, get both they make them everyday and sell them to just about anybody. Seriously, If you are impatient like me, the BK17 is the only choice right now. You can always get the BK10 later. FWIW I just got the BK15 yesterday and am loving the feel of the "tweener" (its my first).
 
Thanks for the responses so far. I have a bk16 ready and love the feel of it. As well as a bk9 that relates because of the handle. Both of them are great. I wish I could get a 10 and a 17 but funds are limited :(. As far as patience goes I am not good. But the 10 is not far behind tooji (sorry if that is spelled wrong) Estimated it would be released around the 15th. I will just look at my bk9s and the bk16s handle and see which is best too.
 
are you wanting a 16 and a 17?
or a 17 instead of a 16?
if the latter, you could always mod it to a straight clip.
 
Becker hit a grand slam homer with the BK16 and 17. I just purchased a 17 and love it. The size and balance make it a perfect hunting knife.
 
No, I have a 16. But now I am trying to Decide between a bk17 and a bk10 as the next Becker.
 
Personally, I'd have to go with the BK10

If you all ready have a 16 get a 10 the 17 and 16 do pretty much the same things. A 10 will give you an option between the 9 and 16.

That's what I'm thinking too. Get the 10 when they come out and get the 17 later.
