help me decide

Hello everyone,

I am trying to decide on a new knife. I have narrowed the choices to: Combat Elite RRF, Bradley Allias 1 or 2, Buck Mayo, Camillus Dominator. I am interested in hearing opinons and recommendations. I would be interested in which you recommend, also why.

I realize I can not go wrong with any of these just want to get some feed back. I will be using this as an EDC multi purpose knife.

Thanks,

Stuart

I would go with the combat elite or the lager allias. I've heard nothing but good things about both, especially the c e. I just held one of the smaller allias' a day or two ago and it was just way too small for my tastes. But, if you want a great smaller knife like that, you may want to look into one of those little striders (the pt, I believe). Feels like the best little knife I've ever held. Fits the hand well with plenty of useable blade.

A little more information about your carry environment might be of help. Do you wear jeans, a suit, chinos? Would the assisted opener or flipper raise more eyebrows than it is worth for ease of use? What do you normally cut?

Generally speaking I think the Alias' are overpriced for a Benchmade made knife, and the Domininator has rather stiff action on the assist. Both the RFF and Buck are great values for what you get, but very different in use, the Mayo design being sleeker and more elagant and the Ralph/Wilson being more, dare I say, tactical.

I have a Combat Elite RRF, manual, and I LOVE it!! I also have the Buck/Mayo TNT, which is also an excellent knife. I feel like the RRF is heavier dutier knife.

stjames, good point.

I most often wear jeans, less so khakis. I am not concerned with how aggressive looking the knife is. I think the RRF is my favorite of the bunch however I am concerned about the size of the choil when the knife is folded and the choil pokes out the back of the spine. I have never seen an RRF in person. As for the AO feature, for me it is purely for the fun factor, no real need for it.
