OK the wife has given me clearance to get a knife. I need a tough, last ditch survival knife for camp chores, killing zombie bears, etc. I can't decide between a JUNGLAS, ESEE-5, or ESEE-6.

Right now I'm leaning towards the '5 or '6, with the sheath with the survival tin pocket attached.

I love my RC-3, because of its perfect balance, but I want something much bigger. I have an RC-4 that I am in the process of selling to a friend, it is too heavy for its size and doesn't feel balanced. With this in mind...

Help me decide between the ESEE-5, ESEE-6, and JUNGLAS :D

Edited to add: I'll be backing up the zombie-bear knife with an Izula, if that changes anyone's advice

If you thought the RC 4 is heavy, you better get a 5 in your hands and get a feel for it before you push the go button.
I was surprised at how much more knife the 5 is over the 4.

i would go for the 6 for camp and those times when you absolutly just have to chop a zombie in the head. its very well balanced and feels fine in the sheath on my belt, i really like the molle back and pouch that makes it the most versitle of setups.

how about the rat pack kit with an ESEE-6 in it?
that way you get the knife, a fire kit, sharpening steel, and more room for storage for not a lot more than the ESEE-6 with molle back and pouch.

Any way you go...you'll be happy. If you do grab a RAT pack, I'd also pick up at least a bare sheath and belt clip, or ideally a sheath and molle backing. The pack is nice, but you're not always going to want the whole deal on your belt.

If you plan to baton a lot of wood, go for the junglas, but realize it's limits for smaller jobs. Havent an izula will help with that some, but I'd probably back something that big with a 3 or 4.

The 5 and 6 are both equelly capable camp knives, but I tend to lean toward the 6.

eye candy as always:

ESEE-6 for sure. If your camp chores are anything like mine then food prep accounts for more of the work than bear slaying and the 6 is great for it. Also does a bangup job on splitting wood and the like.

The 5 is a monster slab of steel, if you weren't down with the 4 I doubt you'd much like the 5.

I agree with shotgunner. The 5 is a heavy knife and if you don't care for the 4 the 6 will probably work for you. I really love the RC-4 myself.

Now....I am more confused than ever...after Izula I wanted to go 4 and this 6 pack kit looks awesome. I am going to have a sleepless night again. ESEE4, ESEE5, ESEE6, ESEE4,ESEE5 ESEE6...................................
