I've narrowed it down to a Benchmade 275 Adamas, Spyderco Manix 2 XL & ZT 0300. The knife is going to be my edc and will pretty much only used to open boxes. Tell me which one you would pick and why.

I think the adamas and 0300 would be a bit over kill to open boxes. The manix 2 would be the best IMO.

If only for boxes why not pick a Kabar Dozier or a Manix2 ? Both suit big hands while offer accuracy control of the tip.

If I must pick one from the 3 listed ,then it must be Manix XL for the finger choil ,FFG and lower tip and light weight .

Manix. Yeah, I know, I'm usually on the other side of the aisle, but Spyderco specializes in slicers. The Adamas and ZT give up some cutting performance with the intention of being better general purpose tools. If your known envelope of operation does not include cutting dense materials, scraping, or the kind of light prying that many of us know we should not do with our knives, then the Manix is a good bet.

But if you really want to make sure those boxes open and stay opened, then I would suggest

You're going to buy a Manix XL, ZT0300, or Adamas for the sole purpose of opening boxes? Out of those three, I think I'd recommend this one:

'Cause, hey... if you're gonna go overkill, you might as well go WAY overkill. Literally.

I love it, its pretty heavy and I hate the clip. I think a manix xl would be great(I have a regular manix and love it).

I've had all 3 I still have my adamas and my 0300 , the manix 2 xl is a great knife, but I like big beefy folders , the manix xl is no slouch but the 275 and the 0300 are in a whole different league IMO,

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I gonna place a order for the Manix 2 XL right now. The knives I chose may be overkill but I have large hands and box cutting wont be its only choir just the main task.

Those knives arent tough enough for opening boxes friend. You need that to make sure there good and opened.

lol jk. Id say the ZT 0300, overkill for boxes but its a solid lifetime lasting knife.
