I want to order a small EDC utility fixed blade with a kydex sheath. No scales, but it should have holes in the handle so it can be cord-wrapped.

As far as the rest of the design is concerned...well, this is where you come into play.

I would like everyone's input on what it should look like. I made three blade designs (drop point, wharncliffe, and recurve) and three handle styles, and I'd like to ask you which combination you prefer.

I will order the style that most people agree on, making this a BFC-designed knife (which I think is a pretty cool idea).

Take a look at the following designs and post the designation next to the combination you think is best.

Here's handle design A in the three eligible blade shapes:

Handle design B:

And finally, option C:

72 hours after posting this thread I will consider the poll closed and tally the votes. Then we'll get to steel, thickness, and blade finish.

In case you're wondering, I'm not using the "Post a Poll" option because non-paying members can't vote on them on BFC if I remember correctly.

Thanks in advance for participating!

Personally, I'd go Wharncliffe A, as I enjoy a Wharncliffe blade and the handle is very reminiscent of my Spyderco Spin, which has excellent grip, despite being a small knife (it also a Wharncliffe :P).

as much as i like your warncliffe i could see my fat hands getting in the way so im going with drop point b, but i would like the but a lil more rounded off, kinda with a handle like drop point c.

Blade shape: wharncliffe is the best for a small utility, although the drop point looks like the Subcom, which works too. Recurve would be wasted at that scale.

Handle shape: Design A looks like a good grip without being as constricted as B. Option C would work, but might be slippery.

Handle C for sure. Drop point first choice, wharncliffe second choice.

I don't care for recurves, especially on blades so short.

My choice is recurve C.

Handle C is IMO the only one that would look good with a cord wrap, although A and B would proivde better grip due to their shape. But I think I'll stick with handle C as my choice.

As for blade shape, personally I would choose the recurve as it provides the greatest amount of cutting edge for that length, but that doesn't seem to be the popular choice.

Good luck Tim.

My favourite is wharncliffe C, I was going to say B, but i think that since it is a small handle it is nice to have no pommel.

Drop point C. It looks like you can hold the knife in more positions than the other handle shapes. The belly would also allow it to be used to do some skinning if need be.

I'd go with option DROP POINT A. I like drop point blades and, and the handle looks like one could get the best grip on. Drop point c doesn't look bad but I think I'll stick with A. good luck and good idea.
