Ok here it is. It a beautiful peice and I just wanted to find out what model this is and about how much it is worth since I sorta want to sell this. The cutting edge is just over 7" and this one does not come with box or paperwork cause it is made in South Africa. On the front is the #14. I was told this might be a Sable II with a 7" Blade. Does anyone know for sure? About what is the value of this one? Please help.

It sure looks like a Sable to me.

As to value id say maybe $10-$15 but i'll gladly give you $50 :p

OOOO... looks like I have it sold already, LOL.
What is it that you do that your in Scotland or Taiwan? I'm from Taiwan...

I'm from Scotland but moved to Tawian a few years ago.
I now sort of live between the two depending on the weather :p.

It is Definately a Sable II. The Sable I has a 9" blade, its not that. The Sable III Has a 4" blade, its not that. The Sable IV has a 5" blade and its not that.. Its definately a Sable II Made from: 1985-1994. The Sable II Has a 7" blade.

thanks for the info nyefmaker. I guess there aren't all that many around eh? it doesn't seem like many have seen this model much eh?

The knife in the photo is indeed a Sable II. We did not make that many of them - a total of 59 in South Africa and a further 56 in the USA. Number 14 would have been made in about March 1987.

It is hard to give a value to these older knives but, given that Chris did the majority of the work on it himself, I coated it (which surely must add a a huge amount to the value!!) and there are relatively few out there, I should think upwards of $350 would be fair.

Wow, thank you very much for those numbers. I now love that knife even more:)

Liu, sorry ...I just noticed this post. To bad you do not have the birthday card for this S.A. Sable II. The time line by it's #14 and early of the year 1987 suggests it's made of D2 Steel instead of A2 Steel. But without the card, it is left to question. Unless you can locate #13 and #15 with cards.

anyhoo, nice piece of CRK History, congrats:thumbup:
