Help me figure this one out...

I can't believe how any of those things work but there has to be a simple explanation.:confused: ;) :)
 
There is a simple explanation. The arithmetic of subtracting the sum of the numbers from the original number gives you a multiple of nine. Look at the chart and you will see all multiples of nine share the same symbol, Pisces.
 
That thing had me wondering when I checked it out, too. What you have to do before you click the circle and see the symbol, is to take a look at a few of the numbers and what symbols are beside them. Then when you click 'Try again' and the numbers and symbols come up again, look at the numbers and symbols you did before. They never come up the same ones. The whole grid is configured each time to come up with the same results. It's pretty clever. Thanks for finding that, it was fun trying to solve it.

My mother gets fooled by those things all of the time. I get a frantic e-mail of excitement at least once a week "How do they do that?!?!" is always the subject line.
I've explained it to her a few times, but she still keeps falling for the same tricks. I've finally given up explaining it. I believe she has convinced her boss into letting her wear her tin foil cap on casual dress fridays. It's a nice one. The kind of hat a lunatic would wear to church.

Course, she still calls my wife and kids.
