So, I recently purchased a uberti "Devil Anse.". If you don't keep up with such things think a Colt peacmaker all in black with dark wood grips. I would like to find a matching Bowie. I would like to have a large clip point blade, A handle in dark wood or maybe horn but without that narrow ricasso or whatever you call it on so many modern bowie knives. Can anyone think of a production piece or am I going to have to go custom?

Not really finding anything production wise that grabs me. So who makes a great custom bowie? Preferably one without the exaggerated choil (think that is the right term) that seems to be so popular.

The Von Tempsky is a beast of a knife and pretty rustic looking. It's VERY heavy though, so just be aware of that if you plan on wearing it on a belt for any significant length of time.

Thanks took a look, perhaps a little too rustic for my tastes, appreciate the idea though!

Ask Paul ? I'm sure he'll put you a choil in, if you like. He does more classic fighters, too, including larger guards, etc.

There are about 10,000 different Bowie knife patterns, you will just have to find the look you like.

I did think the Bark River Rogue Bowie was neat,

it is patterned from a Gravely and Wrecks original.

The Gravely and Wrecks is one of the earliest identified Bowie patterns from the 1830's, due to surviving Gravely and Wrecks ads. No one knows if they saw what Jim Bowie was carrying, or came up with a blood chilling version of their own. What we do know, these were one of the oldest patterns called a Bowie knife.

I also like the Micheal Price Bowie patterns from San Fransisco. Don't own this one, but it would be nice.
