I am looking to buy my wife a new knife. She is a gardener for a living and I want to get her a hawkbill. I love the size, about 3in blade, of the harpy but I want one with a natural handle material. So does anyone know of a medium size hawkbill with natural handle material for up to 200.00

The only thing I can think of is to buy a stainless steel harpy and then get it customized. I hope this helps. The stainless steel spyderco seem ideal for customizing.

Actually. Hen and Rooster,
and I think Boker also offers that style of knife. You also might want to try Bear and Fighting Rooster companies.

Niel Blackwood (Dr. Lathe here on BFC) has at least one nice Hawkbill design. He works with a variety of materials, so I am sure the two of you could come up with something that fits the bill.

I have a small hunter in Talonite® that Neil made with burgandy micarta handles that is just a little dream of a knife.

Would she prefer a folder or a fixed blade hawkbill? Neck or hip sheath. Or maybe a back pocket sheath?

Thanks for the mention James!!
I DO appreciate that!!
If a fixed blade is the ticket, I now make them in two sizes. ANY handle material is possible.

Roselli makes a "opening knife" that looks like it would be perfect for garden work.
