Help me find a light (that runs on normal batteries!)

I'm trying to find a light to bring on spelunking and cave hiking trips - I've got a great headlight, but I want some super bright for use in checking out deep pits and high rooftops of caves. I've got an LED maglite, but I'm hoping to get something a bit brighter - preferably in the 500-800 lumen range.

Here's the catch - I can find lots of things that are that bright on Battery Junction. But what I can't seem to find is a light like the maglite that runs on regular bought at any nearby store batteries. I don't want to burn through 123As or have to remember to recharge my 18650s. I want a light that runs on AA/C/D cell batteries, with a super bright output.

Does such a light exist, or should I just make do with my maglite? (don't get me wrong, I love the thing. I just think it would be fun to have something way brighter :D)

That's a bit more than I was thinking of spending, but dang... The specs on that thing are awesome. I might just have to save a bit more spending money and get one of those.

Edit: ooorrr, maybe the LD41. Not quite as powerful, but 40% cheaper sounds good...

I've been looking to pick up a TK41 myself.

I think you will be pretty hard pressed to find another 800 lumen light of comparable quality for 100 bucks.

the excellent fellow who runs goinggear.com has a sorting system on his site that allows you to pick by feature. its worth a try. In the mean time, the fenix e21 is not nearly as bright as you are looking for, but is a very robust light. Not sure what the Pelican Saber series lites run at, but they are quite good as well.

The LD41 is a good one to look into. The LD40 is excellent too. Also the Jetbeam PA40. All of these lights can maintain regulated output off of 4AA alkalines.
