Help me find a slipjoint

Okay, well I recently started a new job at National City Bank, and being a bank, have extreme regulations on what I can/can't carry while I'm there. The bank policy states "No weapons of any kind (eg: knives, guns, blah blah blah..."

I went directly to my manager in a professional manner and asked her what exactly she would allow me to carry (if anything) and when I showed her a picture of the BM Mini Pika I've been carrying she answered with an "absolutely not" (good thing she didn't notice it clipped to my pocket at the time).

Anyway, I brought up a few pictures of some Buck lockbacks with wood handles and some SAK knives and although still against policy, she said she would let me carry a small one, since they are "much less scary looking."

Anyway, I'm looking for a single or double blade SAK/Lockback/Slipjoint that is lightweight. I know SAK made a single blade model w/ silver handles that I really liked, although I can't find any online now (I just saw them in a thread on here a few days ago, now I can't locate it).

I dont need anything super high quality, as it wont be used much. Trying to stay under $20. I'm thinking about the Buck 503, but since it will be in my pocket I wanted something a little lighter than brass.

I'm really looking for a nice minimalistic SAK, if you guys can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Victorinox Alox Solo

I think this is perfect for what you described. I have one and carry it all the time, even with my big expensive folders. It out slices all of them.

YES! That's the one.

Thank you.

EDIT- I just searched Ebay and found a decent selection of them, ranging in the $15-$20 range. I would much rather buy from a good store instead of some ebay wholesale store. Where is a good place to get one of these? Possibly even a store that supports these forums?

Thanks again.

I did some searching and ordered the Victorinox Bantam Alox. Its the same as the one pictured above, except it has another smaller blade on it as well. I figure it would be nice to use the small blade for crap work, and keep the large blade sharp and in good shape. I think it will work out well.

Yeah, I wasn't sure. I found the Bantam for $15 and a good shipping price, so I hopped on it. I think it will serve well.

It is a great knife and I'm sure all your fellow bankers will be able to relate to it being Swiss.;)

Actually, the Bantam model has only one blade, the other tool is a can/bottle opener with a screwdriver tip.

It's the next knife that I want to pick up, because it's small enough to disappear, can open a corona easily, and has a great slicing blade.

Hope you're not too disappointed that it only has the one blade...

Good info guys, thanks.

I got the Bantam II/Pioneer Settler today, and it is great. Same thickness as the original Bantam, but they squeezed another blade in there. I think it'll be a great knife to toss in my front pocket for work/sheeple.

You weren't kidding. I just broke in mine on a huge green apple, it slices through like there was nothing there. I think this little guy is gonna get a lot of use in my pocket.

Man, you guys are making me want to get another Alox SAK. Now I have to stop by the knife shop on my way home from work... again....
