Well while fixing my Tahoe in my uncle's shop we got to talking about my grampa's 30-06, brought back from WW II by a relative and given to my grandpa, it is a 1903/A3.

I would like to find a wood stock for this rifle as someone tried to make a sporterized stock and the original stock is AWOL, this rifle may have had the barel shortened, and I will look to see if it is a "star" barel, but I would like to put this back as close to original as I can, either that or make a shooter out of it depending on what I can find. I know that it functions properly I am just flattered he wants me to have it as he said "you are more into guns than I am"

I have already checked CMP (civilian marksmanship program), and Brownell's (they have a synthetic stock if a wood one can't be located)

Thanks all for your help

google numrich gun parts or just gun parts i think they should pop up first. I buy most of my stuff from them. great prices.

Don't forget to check out Shotgun News and the Gunlist. There are always dealers selling USGI parts and stocks. You should be able to pick up an original stock for a fair price.

Hey LIzard...

I've seen them around,, but getting hard to find....

I've got 3 of them, one full stock version still in original condition (un-sporterized) and two others that are...

Go with the synthetic stock
