Ok so i just got the myerco persian and i am in love, but the knife is a half inch too large for legal carry where i work :(
its got pretty much everything i want at a price that cant be beat.
So who makes a reasonably priced (under100) sd oriented fixed blade with the following specs:
3 inch or less blade.
fairly comfortable handle that is easy to manipulate and is relativley short so that its easy to conceal
comes in a kydex sheath that can be mounted horizontally across my belt at the small of my back, or suspended from my armpit via mercharness.
obviously id prefer a nice steel and good craftsmenship but i dont want to spen dto much or id get a perrin or bud nealy custom.

just want to see what the collective has to say.

thanks for replies

ESEE Izula or Izula 2 (5/32" thick, 2.5" blade, 1095, good sheath retention, lifetime warranty - the 2 has a 1/2" longer handle and micarta scales)
JK knives & Mark Wohlwend are custom makers who have occasionally posted up a sub-$100 EDC sized blade.
Buck Pak-lite

I forgot to mention KFU - another BF custom maker, who just happens to have finished up an EDC knife with 3" blade today at a very nice price.

Meyerco Wharning. Around $30 bucks and if pork man tests are convincing to you, then this knife is one of the best performers even among some knives with longer blades.

Hi razorsdescent -

John Kiedaisch of JK Handmade Knives will make a knife to your specification, all you have to do is draw up a design and send it to him.

I have this model he calls the Small Simple Scandi - and it has replaced my Izula (also a very nice knife).

Here is a comparison shot with an Izula to show the size reference -

My example came with a leather sheath, but John is making some really nice Kydex now.

Good luck - There area a lot of great options in the category you are looking.

The PRC-made Boker Plus line 2" Gnome and 3" Rhino, bottom two below, are reasonably priced with 12C27 blades. They are available in contoured G10 or stag handles.

The top example above is the Solingen-made Boker Pry-Mate, with milled Micarta handles and 7mm thick blade stock of Bohler N690 steel, with a 3 3/8" cutting edge. It's pricey - you could have one each of both of them for what the Pry-Mate would run! Nice knife, however.
