ok so i got this watch...it is a daniel mink automatic....the band sucks...if i move my wrist a certain way it'll open....it is like a butterfly clasp i guess....i looked it up and it is called a deployment buckle with a push button......what i would want would be a fold over clasp with a safety.....that is what i am used to on metal bands.....

y question to those in the know is where can i get nice band...how the hell do i measure it?.....and can i get something to match it shininess wise?......ryan

Watch band sizes are usually measured between the lugs like you have it but in millimeters. I would guess yours is either 20 or 22 millimeters. Hadley Roma tends to make the best aftermarket bands. Something like this or this would be perfect, but anything with a straight end link of the right width would do.

Like xing said - it's between the inside of the lugs measured in mm's. Without needing to match the contours of the lugs, I'd recommend you go with a mesh bracelet. Just look for a reputable seller on the bay. Or, check out www.ofrei.com - they are one of the most reputable online watch parts retailers. Another reputable source is Bob Davis (rhd - Bob Davis on timezone.com) his web-site is http://www.mywatchmaker.net/index.htm. Something similar to the one in this pic.

Other choices would be a leather band. You could check to see if the manufacturer of your watch makes any other bands that could fit this watch. Another thing to keep in mind is the actual thickness of the bracelet/band - you might be looking at sports/divers sized bands due to the size/thickness of your watch. Your base would be measuring the thickness of your current original bracelet.

I guess you could also stop by your local mall at one of those small watch battery/strap replacement boutiques - they often have half-decent quality straps from the major brands. And, they'll replace the bracelet/strap for you because you'll need a specialty tool to do it yourself.

I like the watch. Measure between the lugs in millimeters. It looks like 22mm or 24mm, both standard sizes, and straight end links. Should be easy to find a replacement. You have a dress watch with a polished case, so a polished bracelet or part polished part brushed will be a better match than an all brushed finish. If you can't tell from the photograph and description, email the dealer. If the dealer can't answer your question, buy from another dealer. This dealer has all the Hadley Roma bracelets on one page:

thanks for all the advice guys...ill post a pic or a link of the one im thinkingabout when i find it and see what u guys thinkj....ryan

Push button, flip lock deploy ant buckle what does this mean?....is there an actual button on the side of the clasp...to me it looks like u have to undo the little safety type buckle first and then open the band?....no?...ryan

the band currently on there has a combination of brushed and polished.....i don't think id mind all polished but i think brushed would look silly considering the face is polished....what do u guys think?.....also they are about 3.5 mm thick....ryan

If you want a metal Oyster, President or Jubilee style look up "wjean" on the bay. Pretty well known for providing top quality bracelets.
