Help me find my Busse...

Forgive me. I was very active on this forum years ago, owned several Busses and SRs, but I lost my login. I kept my Howling Rat as a user and it's been fearless, but I want to get something else for my new decade of life.

I had a Game Warden for a spell, and while I loved it, I found it a tad small for a camp knife. I was wondering about Busses in the 3.5-4" blade range. I love the Mean Street and the custom handles on here, but wondering if there's something similar where the lanyard stying is like the Game Warden (ie, not a separate hole). Obviously would love a SR too. Thanks!

maybe a Park Ranger?

though it does have an extended rear talon hole similar to the anniversary mean street but a little more ergonomic.

Get an AMS and don’t look back. Most handy and capable knife I own in that size range.

I can't think of any Busse other than the Game Warden "where the lanyard styling is like the Game Warden (ie, not a separate hole)."

In the 3.5"-4" range, I'd look for a Boney Active Duty. Or maybe a 4" steak knife.

Great. Thanks, y'all! This will give me lots to research. Seeing so many beautiful Busses on here...I noticed the Game Warden is a lot more now than when I had one 10 years ago -- back then I paid $200. They're in the $500s now...So that's definitely out of my range for an EDC

EDIT:

Looking around some and found an earlier post. Looks like the AMS and Mean Street are up my alley. Also love the SR Mini Vex or regular Vex.

Yah, too bad I didn't buy 4 or 5 shbm's for $347 "back then." Hey Doc Brown, warm up the DeLorean!

Busse HACK models generally have the pommel ground flush with the scales like what you're after.

A lot of HACKs are Active Duty and Game Warden variations.

I bought one for $300 from a member here about a year ago.

There's Busse & Kin bargains here, you just gotta root like a HOG snootin for a truffle! ;)

Happy Hunting and have fun. :)

Basic 4..trust me you would LOVE it as a camp knife, super light, super strong. Also, if you can consider fudging on the blade length a pinch.. the infimandu would blow your mind.. to me the PERFECT camp knife. The most butter smooth grip feel in the hand..its one of those blades that has found absolute perfection in its design.
Go check out a review off the ratmandu cg, (the sr101 version of the same knife). Look up "gidionstactical ratmandu cg" but there are infi versions with a satin finish, great for food prep.

Anniversary mean street (AMS) Would be a pretty good choice on the small end as well

A Boss Street of any flavour with a rounded pommel mod would probably be exactly what you're looking for. A D2 Vex would be right there too.

Awesome, thanks for the help, folks! Got some research to do..I saw a pretty nice AMS on the forum and have been in contact. Though I think I would be partial to the Vex -- I'm not seein them anywhere.

If you think you'd prefer the Vex, it wouldn't hurt to put up a WTB for one if you're not in a hurry.

Hard to go wrong, but I'm really fond of my BG AMS, especially after I stripped it and hand sanded the scales.
