I am looking for a knife that has all the things that are important to me.

Blade - Around 3-in tops
Flipper and stud
Assisted opening
Deep carry clip

That's all i want out of a knife right now, and if i could get that combination i would be willing to pay about 75 for it but if i could find a high value knife with these qualities that would be even better.

Thanks!

Blade's 3.5, but the HTM-DDR Gunhammer spring assist version might do well. I have the manual version and it's great.

Those are very pricey for me. Id like to stick around $75 tops. What i would love is something like the Kershaw Cryo only with G10 or some other higher grip material than stainless.

I have bought three Kershaw JunkYardDog 2.2's from the KershawMan (Dave) on this forum. It runs about $80 or so. Now it is a 3.5" blade, and it does NOT have an assisted opening...but it's so smooth it doesn't need one. The pocket-clip is ugly but works fine and I believe Kershaw has different pocket-clip designs that will work. This is a composite blade with a D2 edge and I love this knife for any weed-whacking I do around the house. It holds its edge and it's tough and the G10 slab is nice and grippy.

I was just gonna say Cryo, but you beat me to it. I'm sure Kershaw has something that will meet your needs.

Using these search filters on Kershaw's web site, the following knives that meet your requirements and haven't been mentioned yet are:
  1. Dimension
  2. Swerve
  3. Freefall
The Dimension has a titanium handle with lines engraved into it so it might only have marginally better grip than the Cryo's flat stainless handles. The other two have textured glass-filled nylon handles.

Kershaw leek. Either the wharncliffe or reverse tanto. Comes in G10. Way below your price limit.

You can get replacement scales for the Cryo, but that does push the price up. The Thermite has G10, but is larger at 3.25.

Sog Vulcan II series, in regular or tanto style, with or w/o blacked-out coating, in VG-10 steel.

Gets you a stud, flipper and deep-carry. No assist, but again, it's simple not needed.

The new Kershaw Dimension is worth a look. Titanium handles, 3" blade, flipper & thumb stud, button lock, assisted-opening, tri-position deep-carry clip.

Cryo + a set of G10 Gator Scales should still be under $75.

I would spend a little more money and get the ZT 0350 which can be had at around $100(try kershawguy.com). If not, then the Kershaw Knockout or Piston are good choices as well; GPKnives has them for around $70.

Spend a little more and visit the Curtiss website. The Cruze and F3 come in mini sizes, blades under 3" and they are flippers.

The Kershaw Knockout is a very nice folder. The blade may be a little longer than 3 inches but it is a nice flat framelock! Good Luck! Kevin
