Help me find my perfect fixed-knife

I am trying to choose a fixed blade knife either custom or production up to $250. The blade steel MUST have S30V quality steel (or a higher quality material) and I would prefer not to have wood grain handles.

The only other defining quality is it has to be reasonably light weight (i.e. > 3 oz) with a 'smallish' blade size (i.e. < 6.5" but this is variable)

Could you recommend some more options (maybe custom knives?)

Some options I have found so far...

BOKER PLUS ELEGANCE KWAITO

Benchmade 210TK Activator (I really like this one and would choose it if I could find it in stock somewhere)

Brother, you need to look in the Knifemaker's For Sale section. There are many makers on here that can make you the knife of your dreams in that size for $250 or less. Look at their forums on here and their websites. The quality is astounding.

If you want it NOW and no wait, then look in the Individual For Sale section, under custom knives. Always lots of stuff happening in there too.

Your choices are nice for sure, but I will always choose an ESEE over anything else. Even more so if you plan to use said knife. Just my humble opinion.

Winkler Knives II has what you need, the best you can get for the money. The best period.

I am a fan of ESEE and Busse Group blades.. that said.. If you can picture THE perfect fixed in your head and it's not already made, find yourself a maker you like and get it made for you.

About the same price as a Winkler (~$350) but with top quality materials, and higher quality steel than S30V, for sure.

This weighs around 3.1oz ~ 87g, made by Murray Carter. It has a Buffalo horn handle with a san mai of White Steel core wrapped with soft stainless steel - 7.25".
But it is a bit out of the $250 limit you have.

thats a realy cool knife my friend.

For a smaller fixed blade, my favorite is the Spyderco Swick. I like it so much I bought multiples of each version. Of the OP's original list, I've owned and sold both the kaala and 210. Neither were very comfortable for me. The kaala had really sharp corners and a terrible sheath, though the blade itself was great. The 210 was too bulky for such a short blade.

:D You might want to look at a Boker Dozier Anchorage Pro Skinner. Dozier quality and a great price also.

How about a Bravo1 in CPM154? A few other Bark River designs will be coming out soonish in CPM 3V too if that's attractive.
