Help me find the knife.

I'm trying to find a knife I saw a couple years back at a gunshow. It was designed by a fellow who wrote a book about traveling America on his horse. Was a large blade survival type knife with a metal index finger loop. As I remember, you could get it with either a black, grey, or brown handle. Ring any bells to anyone? Thanks!
