So I’m looking for a neck knife, prefer one with scales, I’m not to worried about the material, and a decent blade steel, it will be an EDC so multi-use would be great! Something between $40-$60 would be ideal. Thanks ladies and gents

If you are flexible on decent blade steel, one of the CRKT neck knives. If you are flexible on price, the White River Backpacker.

First off, A Anempyre welcome to the forums !!!

Close to what you are looking for, and I had been on that same search for many years, this one is sticking around longer than most, so that speaks volumes about it's abilities ;)
edited to add that the bobtail fob on there is one that I tied onto the knife, very handy to aid in retrieval

I tied a loop of paracord through the end hole and then tied the neck cord through that so it hangs properly, also used slip knots on the neck cord so I can adjust it to the length when I am wearing it, they are quite handy knots for this sort of thing.

It's just a little above your asking price, but, pay once, cry once kind of thing, I think it was worth it but you might be able to locate it for a little less elsewhere

See more detail here at Knife Center

Good luck on your search!

Welcome to the Forums!

$40-$60 is a tough spot, you're leaving alot of greats on the table for another 20 bucks or so.... but it's not undoable at all.

I've had phenomenal luck with Cold Steel's Mini-Tac. I've had the tanto and the bowie configurations, and both are very useful and carryable. They're like $20-$30-ish.

The Mini-Tac isn't made of super steel by any stretch, but you're not hacking logs or splitting rocks with a neck knife. Look for one in AUS-8 instead of the 8Cr stuff.

Just above your price range are the ESEE Izula II, the Spyderco Ark and (though it doesn't have scales) the White River Knucklehead. You could scale the Knucklehead if you wanted.

As mentioned, the White River Backpacker Pro is a buy-once-cry-once winner. The thing carries like it's made of smoke and simply won't dull... not for me anyways.

The next neck knife I'm looking at is the Boker Plus Piranha. 440C and G-10 handles... I don't own one, but I'll have one soon enough.

I sort of collect neck knives, and I have nothing in the $40 to $60 range.

The White River Backpacker is indeed a wonderful knife, but way out of your price range at $150. There are other great knives in the $70 to $100 range, but most of the ones I have do not have scales. The Spartan_Blades Enyo Bronze Line Field Grade at $88 is a particular favorite of mine. I find the naked steel handle quite comfortable, and it has the best sheath I know of aside from some 3rd party sheaths. There is a more expensive Enyo, but its sheath is not nearly as good. As mentioned before, the ESEE Knives Izula is excellent. I prefer the IZULA-35V version with CPM-S35VN at $95. I think you can get scales for it.

When I do not expect to do anything more strenuous than opening an ebay package or two, I really like the handle on the CRKT Folts Minimalist knives, which can be had for $20 (the price has gone down since I bought two of them). The Minimalist might not work if you have really big hands.

Hey. Welcome. Also, it would be prudent to use information about what you’re looking for in your title. People with the appropriate information could help much more easily.

I will definitely give the others a look, thank you
