I have a WW2 Camillus knife that had a terribly rusted finish on the blade. Being the master of metal that I am, I used my Dremel sanding drums to remove the finish down to the bare metal, but now it looks like some idiot used a Dremel to remove the finish! What can I use to smooth out the finish so it will look good again. It's a great knife, built like a rock. I just don't want it to look like I scraped it against one for a month!

the grit you start with will depend on how deep the dremel waves are in the blade now.

I often use a dremel to finish the underside and spine of a blade.

I have found 150 grit backed by something hard will do the trick to start.

Move up the grits from there until you are happy. (220, 320, 400 etc)
