Hey guys. Ive been lurking for a long time. Ive been somewhat of a knife enthusiast but I wouldnt call myself a collector. I just really like a good knife and i use the hell out of my knives. Anyway to my question. I have a buck strider 881 tanto and one side of the pivot screw fell out. Where can i get extra screws for it and a tool for the screw? Ive emailed buck about this but i havnt got a reply back from them. Also at one time i tried to grind the tanto section down to get somewhat of an edge on it but i just never could get it right. Could anybody around here maybe take my knife and put a new edge on it and try to fix the end of it. I would really like it to be ground to a spearpoint like blade if possable(or point me to someone who can). I can sharpen my gerbers easy but i just cant seem to do much with this blade. Its been sitting in the bottom of a storage container for about a year now but i really like the knife and when its in working order its great. I carried it for a year in Afghanistan so it has sentimental value also. PLease help me get this knife back in shape.Thanks.

Welcome to the Buck forum Brik.

See if you can find Joe Houser's email addy here in the forums somewhere.
He may be able to just sent you a replacement screw. Some have used blue locktite on them.

Far as that edge job, maybe someone will come along with some help.

Thanks for your service !!
