Help Me Get a Pro-Tech Ciabatta :(

The moment I saw a Pro-Tech Godson/father I fell in love. Unfortunately, automatic knives are illegal here in the UK. So you can imagine how delighted I was when Pro-Tech released the assisted opening Ciabatta! Unfortunately, the only seller in Britain carrying them only does the black coated version, and I want a plain edge satin one.

There's hardly anyone selling them, and even fewer with them in stock. And of those, none I have found ship internationally!

So my first problem is: who sells them that will ship to the UK?? I'd rather not go to Pro-Tech direct, they cost a lot more.

So, assuming such a seller exists, I have a second problem. One of the Royal Mail sorting offices here in the UK, that deals with packages coming into the UK, has taken it upon themselves to start seizing all folding knives! They claim they are 'gravity knives' even when they are clearly not and on-sale openly and widely in the UK.

So, I would be over the moon if a seller would help me out by shipping the knife disassembled (or better yet, with blade and handle in two separate packages - I'd pay extra shipping of course). If they'd do that they'd sure be my first port of call for all my future production knife buys!

So, can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

The problem lies within the UK and its own interpretation of its regulations. I would even question it being the Royal Mail rather than Customs seizing the knives. That would definitely make it a legal matter, and Bladeforums cannot support circumventing the law.

No, it's definitely Royal Mail. Customs let them through. It's also only one sorting office, the others have no such policy.

If it is only one sorting office, and no laws are being circumvented importing the knife you want, can you get it shipped to the address of a friend or family member who lives outside the area of that particular office??
