So I am on the fence about a AMS LE with the G10 option, and have been deliberating one for a while now. It's in the $350 range, so not cheap, but I can't handle a coated blade such as the cheaper CG. Someone convince me that this is the way to go!!

Is it the coating that bothers you, or do you just prefer the satin? If it is just the coating you could always strip it. Strippers are gorgeous.

I LOVE my AMS it's double cut! so much so that I just ordered one from the custom shop with a few mods. I feel safe saying that the AMS is currently my favorite piece of INFI.

I got the CG AMS, but with a Double Cut finish.. which as you can see,, went down to a almost satin finish just from where I stropped it. It came out to 276 with shipping from Busse

The AMS is great Inspector Callahan, really a perfect EDC/Hiking/Hunting knife... I say go for it,,
Ive heard about 50/50 on Double cut rusting,, no issues yet from me,,
Good luck!

Thanks Timmy, I know you've got about half a dozen killer blades yourself!

Wheres Breavis5694? He's got a TON of Anniversary Mean Streets,, he'll let you know!

I've got to say that the AMS LE and it's variants are the most comfortable carry I've found with a Busse.

This is my new variant AMS triple nuclear harpoon

If you are going to get one call after ordering and request the original logo. The anniversary banner is a little big on the small blade

Get Off The Damn Fence!!!

How was that? Convincing? :)

Truly, there have been some great suggestion here ^^^ The AMS is a great EDC - small enough to actually have with you and big enough to get the job done

.

callahan,

If you have never tried canvas micarta, go with either black or tan canvas and save the $30 upcharge for the G-10; I like black or tan on a satin finished blade. As far as the AMS, I have been a fan of this size since the original Mean Street (I bought my first one over 12 years ago), so I don't think you can go wrong with an AMS LE!
