A friend asked if i could tell him about his khuk, age/origin, that sorta thing.

More pics and close-ups of khuks now on the page.

Wondering who makes these "lion heads"
This sure seems pretty for a cheap-o model??
 
That's a pretty one. Prolly cheap, tho. Someone with more know how will answer soon, I'm sure.

Definitely is pretty. Hopeuflly N2S or beoram or JDP can help us on this one. I don't know enough about khuks in particular.

Happen to do a file test on it to see if it's at least a good knife, even if it's not a particularly important khuk?
 
Welcome to the wonderful world of an Indian bazaar...hopefully your friend paid very, very little.
 
The picture is a bit dark, but it looks like a standard tourist model complete with it's lion's head. The blade is possibly chromed and quite soft. They are not working knives.

who would actually make these?
seems like the handle is quite attractive for a cheap model, but i saw the lions head and knew right away.

is there a main company behind the lion heads?
