Try reposting this in Bernard Levine's forum. From your post I think you have some sort of stacked leather(They can look like wood quite a bit
) handled Caping knife, or a reground hunter, as I don't recall Case making a leather handled caper. The Case XX marking you describe was used from 1940 to 1965.
