I have two Delicas that I've owned for several years. I'm finally getting around to cataloging my knives and would like to know the approximate manufacture date (or at least which series) these two are in, if you can help!

1)
The first knife is black with pocked squares on one side and smooth plastic/FRN on the clip side. There appear to be two rivets holding it all together. It has a molded plastic (or FRN) clip that is not detachable. Inside the circle it says "CLIPIT - DELICA -". The blade is an SE and says "SPYDERCO / AUS-8 STAINLESS" and the other side of the blade says "SEKI-CITY / JAPAN".

2)
The second knive is black and has the pocked squares on both sides. It has a detachable metal clip that seems like it can go on either side of the knife. Its handle also says "CLIPIT - DELICA -". The blade is a combo edge and says "SPYDERCO / VG-10" on one side and "SEKI-CITY / JAPAN" on the other.

Hopefully some of you can tell me without needing photos. Thanks!

Sounds like a couple of mine, except for the edges. My AUS-8 with molded clip dates from around 1997, as I got it just before my Jess Horn lightweight. The other is a third generation after the steel upgrade to VG-10, but I bought mine like that second hand, so I can't help with the year. I think 2001-2005, but I'm wrong more often than right when i think. :foot:

Woah, fewer historians here than I expected there would be.
Thanks for the help yablanowitz!

I seem to have found what I was looking for by browsing the variations described at http://www.spydie.nl/ - a very helpful site! According to it the first knife I listed is a C11SBK and the second most closely resembles the C11PSBBK.

Do the pictures help? Top - down: Delica 1st gen., 2nd, ...

Note: Clip and screws on Delica 3 are self-polished!
