I recently aquired a Busse, but can't figure out what model it is, or when it would be from. I am not a knife collector, so I apoligize if this is a stupid question. BTW, this is my first post, great forum. Thanks for the help.

Wow. Looks like a super old school straight handled Badger Attack, maybe from the 1990's or even late 1980's. The older hogs will be along shortly to answer with certainty but either way your knife is very unique and possibly one of a kind. Great, great score.

I din't realize it could be that old. Once I handled it I couldn't pass this thing up, I have a game warden that I bought a while back and use it daily (my only other Busse) so when I saw it I had to grab it. The size is perfect, the blade is just about 4.5" long. It looks like it has been used, and I bought it to use. I need to get a sheath for it though, the one it came with is pretty cheap.

Dude, you SCORED!!! Looks like a SHBA Variant, need to sent it to me for future inspection...

.

It looks a lot like my SHBA Proto. Here are a couple of pictures, one that is next to a regular SHBA. You probably have the original sheath, they weren't the best. Contact me if you want more information on your knife.

WOW... You've got a real gem.... I could pay off my house with that... not really but it's worth a fortune haha

Tim,
I thought you may be stopping by to post that pic. ;)

And Panama, Randucci is correct. Looks like a Straight Handled Badger Attack Proto.

Great score! And don't through that sheath out, it probably is the correct one

Damn, that is one AWESOME score!!!!!!

I'd love to see a BOSS release of that as well

That is a beauty!!!! If you don't mind, how did you come to acquire it?

Been after one like that for quite some time.....and a SHSH/BM Proto........I think I could retire after that.....oh yeah and the one Garth has......screw it!!! Cant ever stop!!!!

I bought it from a guy I have dealt with in the past who always has nice stuff and very fair prices, I knew it wasn't a current model due to the blade markings, but wasn't sure how old it was. It is a keeper, there is just something about it that I really like. I think I caught a very expensive disease! After looking at all the pics of various models I doubt this will be my last Busse.

Much like Lays Potato Chips, you cant have just one......or two...or three.

Congratulations on a keeper!!!
