I have had this knife for a year or so and have not been able to find out anything about it. I wasn't quite sure were to put this post so moderators, feel free to dump it elsewere.
Well this knife was given to me in Mozambique. I know it was in South Africa before that, so maybe a South African maker?the blade is stamped with "ROBERTSON -JD-" I think the blade is carbon steel and has coroded alittle from being stored in the sheath. The guard and pins are brass as is the thong tube. The top edge is not sharpened but it's thin enough it could be without much trouble.
The handle seems to be rosewood. The tang is tappered and the whole thing is very well ground. It balances very well and who ever made it, know what they were doing. It's a shame it has fallen inot this state...
So take a look and if anyone can offer any info at all on it, I would realy appreciate it. thanks alot!
