I just got back from a 5 day backpack trip into the Ansel Adams Wilderness and while I was setting up camp I climbed onto nearby rocks and noticed something wedged deep in a crack. I used my knife to flick it out and it was this old knife. It looks like an old Boy Scout or Camp knife and has seen many years hidden in this crevice. I can't open it because its rusted closed. Does anybody have any idea how old it is or what manufacturer made it. I bet it could tell alot of stories if it could speak.

I have no idea but I would like the find out my self . maybe soaking the Hinge's in oil for a day or so mite free up the blades . and give us a better idea of the maker .
And what a beautiful place to camp and a great find to go with it

Fantastic pics, looks like a great place for a hike  Good advice from Rcs

First impression is Japanese manufacture. Cool to find something like that out in the middle of nowhere, obviously fell out of the pocket of another camper. As Rcs said, hang the bolsters(only) in some penetrating oil or something similar overnight, you should be able to get some movement then.

How big is it? It looks to me like my miniature Japanese of Rachel's Japanese. I think pre-war, but I don't know.
