Help me ID this vintage material chocolate brown

I recently got a large amount of old micarta from a machine shop. Mostly canvas

I have a few pieces of this. It is chocolate brown and when polished you can see some faint specks of lighter brown almost orange in it.

is it paper micarta? Bakelite?

It smells different than most micarta when sanded

Without having it in front of me. That appears to be a paper Micarta from the 70’s. Some of the paper ones from That era I bought in the 90’s smelled different than today’s stuff. It’s still nasty stuff on your lungs. PPE

It's not Micarta. Micarta doesn't polish that well.

i am going to guess delrin.

Maybe Corian ? coffee bean color

I don't believe Delrin will polish up like that.

I had older Paper Micarta I bought from Angus Campbell in the 90’s That was from the 70’s or older according to the Son of Angus, that you could polish up ... Blue, Brown, Red, ....the White didn’t polish as well.
