Help me identify a Camillus I used to own...?

The first lockback I ever purchased, which I traded many years ago, was a Buck 110-style lockback with brass bolsters, wood handle scales (maybe rosewood), and a standard elongated clip-point blade.

I remember distinctly that it had the words "sword-brand" printed or etched on the blade, with a sabre logo of some kind. I purchased it from a hardware store at some time during the late 1980s.

Any idea which model this could have been? Is it still produced? I'd love to replace that knife with an identical or similar model, but I don't remember enough about it to know what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance,

Raz,

Depending on the size, it was probably what is now a model 3 or 4 or possibly a model 9. Was the blade flat or hollow ground? All three of these are still made but do not carry the Sword brand logo anymore.

Don,

At first I thought I couldn't decide between the #3 and the #4, but after closer inspection I'm pretty certain it was the #4.

Thank you! The fact that they don't carry the "sword brand" logo was what was throwing me off; with the model numbers you provided I was able to find precisely what I was looking for.

That sounds like the British Wilkinson Sword Brand, which as far as I know has never been made by Camillus. Is there another Sword Brand?

Later I realized the brand I was thinking of is not "Wilkinson Sword Brand" -- it's "Wilkinson Silver Sword." Sorry....

Razor,
I've been carrying my Camillus #2 since 1978. The little brother to yours. It has the crossed swords with the words Sword Brand Hand Made on the blade.
Hope you find one!!
Take care,

Well, to be honest, I'm not so sentimental as to mind if the newer blades don't have the same etching on them; it's enough for me to find a knife of the same design.

This is not the first of my early knives that I've hoped to replace. There were two boot knives -- a smaller Western and some sort of el-cheapo "Explorer" boot knife -- that were among my first few purchases traded as a youngster new to the knife world. Years later I was able to buy matching models, just for the sake of nostalgia.

A new Camillus #4 would pretty much complete that first round of trades I wish I hadn't made. Thanks for the help, everybody. :)
