Made in sweden
its in great condition and has a nice edge. with practicaly no mushrooming

and it doesent have the traditional straight head. it has the bulb in the midle.
Link to the folder of IMages.

:

give me some good news guys,

this is not a uncommon name or form, just a combination of stams and the look of the axe

Its not stamped Hults bruk. but rather HULTS BRUKSA-B could this be Hults bruks A-b maybe ? wich is another quastion
And also it has both stamps circle with HB AND a circle with only the H since its Agdor
anyone know what year thay made these with both stamps and with the (Hults bruksa-b) name stamp ?
here is a link to folder where there is picture of the axe. its in superb condition and cannot have been used much, handle is broken off so i cant look for anything on that.

I havent seen ANNY Agdor axes with this form with the head-neckbulb

As I recall, AB (or A-B in this case) is the Swedish equivalent for "Inc." or "Corp."

A similar stamp on another axe clearly shows:
AGDOR
HULTS BRUKS A-B
MADE IN SWEDEN
(with the circled HB and the circled H above the words)

Another AGDOR with the curved "lugs" (or "ears"), but only the circled H and AGDOR appear to be stamped:

I don't know anything else related to your axe, production date, etc.

A little history on "AGDOR" ("Agdor is Rodga backwards").

"Rodga is a manor house in the middle of the østgotlandske mining towns in Norrköping municipality.
Rodga is located between the lakes Norrsøen and Sörsøen. The farm is mentioned already in the Middle Ages and in 1543 found it written down like a stubble and rødjehusmandssteder.
Its heyday began in the 1670s when sold for Hans Pieter Hellwegh, a Dutchman who has lived in Norrköping since the 1650s. He was a very energetic man who decided to start a jib and buldanvæveri here. This was in Karl XI's time, and he required too much sail to its fleet.
In 1677 he was given privileges in order to start production, and soon was here 33 looms which employed 500 households. Rodga came to be a small industrial place.
Rodga was in 1760 taken over by the wholesale dealer Jacob Graver. He played manor house with an upper floor. Jacob Gravers grandson children was the author Aurora Ljungstedt (1821-1908). In the history plays a guts memories included in a hunter's stories from 1861 the deserted and spooky manor Agdor a central role; Agdor is Rodga backwards.
From 1823 Rodga taken over by Magnus Lorentz Ekelund, and in his time seemed a smooth social life on Rodga.
The production of sailcloth slowed and this activity was stopped in 1852. Rodga was linked to the production of axes at Trofasts use, and even today produces AGDOR-axes."

I originally thought someone did that on their own, likely not from the factory as such as I haven't seen anything like that before. but After looking at yours again the stamps seem to be centered on the head, so perhaps that is from the factory. It has green paint which I believe is military issue. If that is from the factory, you have a valuable piece there. Haven't seen anything like it.

Here's one that sold on the bay a few months ago that has the same stamp.

yea. and as u all can see it looks almost like it haven't been used. the edge almost look factory sharpened with no breakage. and it's still sharp. I'm pretty sure it's factory cuz u can see the tiny little dots on the circle around. I send a spesial message to the hults bruk for further information, and the guy said he sendt it to the production manager cuz he couldn't answer me what area or specifics

ive seen some military issue agdor axes and thay seem to have the 3 crowns. so im really comfused by this axe head. since im allmost 100 % sure its with original grean color but with no 3 crown :P
hope i get some really good answer from the production manager from hults bruk.
