I will post a picture this evening. The knife in question is approx. 4" closed. It is black with a black blade. The handle and blade are skeletonized - handle is composite material. The blade has ridges on the top so you can (can't think of a better way to describe) roll it open. The locking mechanism has a button on the left side to unlock it.

Help - can anyone tell me - mid 80's knife. I'm having a blade brain fart on this one.

No name or markings at all?

The opening method sounds like the Rollox. There's a current production version by CRKT, but the older models were made by Gerber / Benchmark. They didn't have a button though; they were lockbacks.

The Rollox wasn't a skeleton design either. But I can't think of anything else that "rolls" open.

Best Luck in your search,
