Its a pretty old Case folding hunting knife.

It has two 4" blades. One is marked "CASE XX U.S.A" with a row of dots under U.S.A.The other side of the blade is Marked "6265SAB" which may be a serial number or model number?
The other blade is unmarked.

It has real wood scales held on with brass(?) pins and steel bolsters. the whole knife is held togather with pins. There is a lanyard hole and the case logo appears on one scale.

I know its not alot of info to go on but can anyone tell me anything about this knife?

The story behind it is one of the nuns at a catholic school confiscated it from a student many years ago. It sat in a desk drawer for many years and was eventually given to the school/church janitor. Thats who i got it from.

It is a Case Folding hunter pattern.
The 62 part of the 6265 means it most likely has bone or wood handles and is 2 bladed. The 65 portion is the pattern number.
The knife was made in the 70's, 10 dots under the USA would mean 1970, 9 dots 1971, 8 dots 1972 etc.

Hope this helps some.

That helps alot. Its much more than i knew before. I count 10 dots under the USA so i guess it was made in 1970. That sounds about right given the timeline i was told about how this knife got into my hands.

Yes it is twin bladed and has very nice wood handle scales.

Any collector interest in these? Not that I would ever sell, the janitor is my grandfather.

Can anyone add to the info already given?

Hang on to it and use it. The 10 dots does make it more valuable than the rest of the ones made in the 70's, but if it has seen some use, it is not worth a lot. Bone or Stag rather than wood would make it a little more valuable.
