Hi all,

This knife has had a long history. I found it about 15 years ago, and have given it a good home ever since. Anyone have any idea which model it is? Thanks for the help.

I am QUOTING you.......

and you are absolutely correct, Matt -
it is indeed a Victorinox Scientist

I lost one circa 1984..... in Connecticut - it was in a homemade chamoise leather pouch......
....so is it mine? :D :D :D :p
(no, I don't want it back - be interesting if it was though -
please look under the corkscrew to see if it was marked in any way?)

Here's my EDC customized Scientist:

BTW - I'm pretty sure the Scientist is still made.

The Swiss & international model # is 1.6305

I think one can get almost any current Victorinox SAK model from Mr. Paul Elsener - the son of the current owner of Victorinox via -

Victorinox Stores Inc
(914) 428-8473
125 Westchester Ave
White Plains, NY

Victorinox Stores Inc
(860) 521-1806
Westfarms Mall
Farmington, CT

Wow, thanks guys.

Sorry, not marked under the corkscrew:( Of all the SAKs I've seen and used, this one has got to be the best mix of size and functionality. Although, I've never actually tried to use the pen:D

You and Me Both
think that way........
that's why it's my EDC, and customized.

The Pen is extremely useful -
if you're ever caught in a line at a bank or post office, and not packin' a pen.

I used to use the pen quite a bit - and still do when people need something to write with -
although I now EDC a very thin/slim and short Zebra stainless steel ballpoint pen which fits clipped to the fold inside my tri-fold wallet.

BTW - the later models after about 1986 have a straight Pin also in the handle by the corkscrew pivot.

Thanks for looking - of course the probablity of it being my lost Scientist was going to be miniscule, and only out by about 4 years :D :D
I can only hope whoever found my lost Scientist appreciates it as much you do yours -
like Matt said that IS a great find!

The Victorinox Yeoman and Boy Scout Yeoman is basically the Scientist with Scissors and that ubiquitous multi-purpose hook on the backside - although once again discontinued as an US import it still can be found at about $25 low price.....

this becomes my EDC when I have to travel by Air - and want to avoid even the remotest possibilty of losing my customized Scientist.
