Hello all. I am completely new to the world of knives. However, I am trying to identify a knife that was recently given to me. On the blade it clearly reads "Tom Brown Tracker". (Note: Does not say Tops anywhere on the blade, handle, or sheath)
However, the blade is metallic and shiny, and the handle is black with brown swirls, it appears to be made of some sort of wood. Also, there is a little hole on the bottom of the handle that allows for a smaller knife to fit. The sheath also says Tom Brown Tracker on it, but it is leather or some sort of hide. There is also string attached to it.
The total length of the blade is about 8.25", and cannot recall the total length but if someone would like I can post it.
I am asking this because I have done significant research now on the Tom Brown Tracker knife. The one that I have is clearly NOT the one manufactured by Tops, which has a black kydex sheath, a grey blade, and a white-grey handle. I know that the Tracker knife has been made by many other knifemakers, but these would have different markings on the blade.
After doing some googling, I came across something that stated that old Tom Brown Tracker knives, before they were manufactured by Tops, had a leather sheath. Despite this, I have not been able to find this brand and style knife anywhere on the internet.
I have embedded many pictures to try and help solve this mystery. I'm hoping someone on the forum is able to identify the knife.
Thanks in advance!
