Found an old yellow 3 blade today and the tag on it has a bird on it.. trying to identify brand .and or value.

Can't give you value unless you're a paying member that's allowed to sell (ie: Gold or higher).

As for what it is, we're gonna need pictures.

How about with the blades open? Is there no stamp on the tang?

Going by the handle shape and long "matchstrike" pull, I'd guess Camillus manufacture. It certainly looks like their "whittler" pattern, which is actually more of stockman because of the blade arrangement (although the blade selection is common to other, actual swell-center whittlers).

Definitely Camillus manufacture. The shield has me stumped though.

It looks like a Camillus #72 Whittler, but the handle scales may have been replaced at some point as they would typically have pins showing. That would also explain the odd bird-stamped shield.

Camillus did a bunch of manufacturing for retailers that wanted to sell knives under their house brand, which could explain the lack of tang stamps. Neat little knife.

The scales are factory, I have this same knife and I have no idea what it is, his is in much better condition than mine though

Since this thread got bumped, I thought I'd take a look around.

I found a knife with the same bird shield that has what the owner of the knife identified as a Cattaraugus tang stamp, but upon further research by the owner it is believed that the stamp is fake, and that the knife is either Chinese or Pakistani. That might explain the lack of handle pins.

The same individual owns this nearly identical knife as the one above, which he says has no tang stamps at all.
