help me K. V. win 98 se

my little laptop's 98 is disintegrating. I keep getting winmm.dll is corrupted, and a few other messages that things attached are not functioning. I got my hands on a copy of 98 se, and hoped I could extract the files from the disk to reinstall them. can I do this? or should I try to redo the whole os and make it 98se?

Any help would be appreciated.

Scroll down to the "W" and use the drop down menu to find the dll file. Save the file on your desktop and follow the instructions in the ReadMe file.
