I'm set on getting my first busse but I noticed the busse site is updating so i'm guessing the two new knives are out. Should i get the hell razor or stick with a satin jack tac in the black crinkle and black canvas from the company store? I'm so stuck... i don't know if i should wait to see how much the hell razor will cost, cause if it's more than i can afford at the moment the satin jacks might be gone.:(

You might consider both. ;)

If you order the SJ Tac through the company store, you will be billed immediately and get your blade immediately.

Then order the Hell Razor. You will not be billed until your knife is ready to ship...and they won't even get it started for a couple months. Plenty of time to save up for it.

Go for it. You know you want to. ;)

The Hell Razor prices will be up tomorrow. Personally, I prefer the looks of the Hell Razor, but the SJ is a sweet knife too. Flip a coin. Sorry if that didn't help. Seriously, just wait for a Hell Razor, that way you save the cash you need.

Dam you 360, now youve given me reason to order one. What are the specs on the HR?

Here's what I could find from the original thread...

Blade length = 6 3/4"
Blade Thickness = 3/16"
SF Handles

:D

noooooo! i might just have to get both now... Would any of you perhaps know how much shipping would cost to canada?

Buy the Satin Jack now, and order the Hell Razor near the end of the order period. That way you’ll have plenty of time to save the money.

Once you’ve got both you can decide which you like best, or if you’re like the rest of us you’ll just end up buying at least one of almost everything.

I also say to buy both. The resale market for Busses is incredible, if you decide you would rather just have the HR wait until you are billed on your CC sell the SJT and pay off the CC. You really can't lose, even in a used condition Busses hold their value well.

:D:D

Order both......you will not regret it. Hell, I don't have a single Busse or Swamp Rat in hand yet and I am ordering more!...You will get bit, so its better to get both of them out of the way right now. Happy Choosing! John

I am in the exact SAME boat!! I've been staring at that black SJ TAC at the store, but I really want the purdy Hell Razor. (Course, I don't know if I'll be able to afford the HR--we'll see).
I have two questions:
1. Which of these two knives (SJ TAC or HR) would fit medium sized hands better? The handles on my old Ontario RAT-7 were way too big.
2. Are any of the micarta's (paper/linen/canvas) thinner than the others? I liked the look of the (E) ergo grip Natural Outlaws--which were micarta, with a diamond shaped texture (like the ones on the ZT set that Randucci had up for sale). What are those--linen?

“1. Which of these two knives (SJ TAC or HR) would fit medium sized hands better? The handles on my old Ontario RAT-7 were way too big.”

The HR is going to have an SF handle, the same as on the SFNO.

I have medium sized hands, and find that both the TAC and SF handles are the right size for my hands.

If push came to shove I’d pick the TAC handle as being more comfortable and secure for me.

I have never held a Busse with the SF grip. But I love the TAC handles. They are really comfortable in both forward and reverse grip. I am looking forward to handling the HOGSJTLE when it arrives.

Rick
