Well, tax time is here, and it looks like I'll have a bit of extra money in my pocket. So it's also new knife time. My budget is around $200, and I've narrowed my choices to the following. The knife purchased will be used for EDC. What would you buy, and why? I'm particularly interested in the opinions of the people who own these models, but any opinions at all are welcome.

1. Benchmade Dejavoo (model 740). $112
2. Benchmade Rukus (model 610P). $173
3. Benchmade Osbourne (model 943P). $135

EDIT: Added a few more criteria:
1. Must be a folder; no fixed blades.
2. No Tanto points; I prefer a drop point, spear point, or clip point.
3. No serrations; I really like the plain edge better.
4. Must be able to open and close with one hand.
5. Must include pocket clip, relocatable if possible.

You get the idea. Any others I should be looking at for $200 or under, that would be good for EDC?

Something in a fixed (approximately 3" blade) from Bob Dozier with a Kydex holster...

Having said that, from your selections, I'd opt for #2...

Good luck with whatever you decide, JNieporte...

I have a BM 610 Rukus in S30V that I now carry as my EDC. It's a terrific knife with the incredible axis lock and one of the best cutlery steels made.:)

OTOH, as soon as they're available, I'm going to buy a Spyderco Military in S90V! :p

(Don't know if you've noticed, but I'm an unabashed and unapologetic "steel snob." :D:p:D )

I prefer the Benchade 745 mini Dejavoo over the 740. (I like smaller folders for EDC)

With a $200 budget my first choice would be for a Bradley Alias or Alias II. You can look around and find one in that range. (Ebay)

Mini rukus, best knife for the money of the three IMO. The large is a bit rediculous for EDC. The mini is just perfect for me. Its definatly the strongest of the three too. Again IMO..

Of the three I have the BM 943. I've found myself carrying it more often lately. Nice and slim.

I bought an "Alias I" by Bradley from "NGK" here about two months ago for about $215 w/ shipping, and I think it's the best knife you can get for the $$$ IMO. 3 1/2 " S30V blade, titanium frame, frame-lock. Very solid, dependable knife.

I added a few more bits of criteria, as shown above. In truth, the full-sized Griptilian is almost perfect, except for the cheap feel of the handles.
