Or who wants to see me take a hack saw to a Leek CB.

I am trying to take it apart so I can swap the CB blade into a different handle.

Was thinking about doing a frankenLeek late last year, but I was unable to locate the handle I wanted. So, I dropped the idea. Fast forward, the local pawn shop got in a CB Leek a little after Christmas. Didn't think much about it because I still didn't have the parts and it was a lot more than Kershawguy's price. Went back this week and asked what it would be just for kicks. It followed me home. My thoughts: "May as well do a franken with what I have." The piviot wouldn't come loose. Wierd... Took of the pocket clip screw (it was set as tip down) and my eyes almost fell out of my head. THE PIVIOT BACK IS ROUND!!! WHHHAAATTTT??!! When did this start? I have never had a Kershaw like this.

So the question. What can I do? Tried blue loctite (Not the best but had the least chance of messing the knife up.) and 24hrs later, nothing. Rubber, nothing. I am totally stumped. HHHHEEEELLLLPPPP!!!!

Are you trying to get it loose or lock the pivot screw in place for a while?

My Kershaw Shallot has a round bottom side (not hex), along with the Mini Mojito (IIRC) what you have to do to tighten or loosen is open the blade and flex the blade in the handle, basically holding the pivot with side pressure from the blade. If it is locktited try adding heat (soldering iron) and flexing.

Put the blade flat sideways on a table and lean on the handle with it hanging off the edge of the table, thats how I did it. Kind of a complicated procedure, may take a third hand.

As always you can send it to Kershaw to take apart or repair, etc.

Sorry for the muddle. I am trying to take the knife apart. Will try your trick tomorrow when I can get a third hand.

you don't need a third hand, just need the pressure on blade so that it puts pressure on the screw you are trying to loosen. I have done hundreds like this and never had one that wouldn't come loose.

+ 1, this has always worked for me.

I had one Mini Mojito I couldn't get apart for the life of me (small blade), I think Kershaw sent me a new/refurb one.

Ya you dont really need three hands, but it would help. Try it and see if it comes loose easy.
