I am looking for a new knife, but not sure what to get. My price limit is about $150 dollars. Here is what I like in a knife:
-frame locks
-flippers
-custom knife maker collaborations (I love my Boker S2 and Dark Hollow)
-interesting blade grinds
-overbuilt knives
-knifes that I can easily take apart/modify
-TI scales

These are some things I like to see in my collection. Please feel free to let me know what would be a good next purchase. All opinions are much appreciated. The knives you say don't have to have all of the above^^

Thanks!

Emerson makes some pretty decent knives for around that price. Maybe a mini cqc-7 or a cqc-7. Even though emerson isn't my favorite knife maker by any means, I have aways enjoyed the wave feature and found it very useful.

Zero Tolerance 0801 Rexford would be a good choice. Finding one for $150 might be tough, but not impossible. I bought mine for $189 at a gun show, but I've routinely seen them for high $160s and up since then.

ZT0200 hits most of the requirements on your wish list. Plus you'd have about $30-$40 left over that you can use towards another knife.

Check out Kizer Cutlery and Dendra, both make solid, beefy folders with many of the features you like.

Save up another $50-75 and get your hands on a ZT 0560.
I think it fits most of your data points. And I think you'll freakin love it.
I love mine.

ZT 0560
-frame locks - CHECK
-flippers - CHECK
-custom knife maker collaborations (I love my Boker S2 and Dark Hollow) - CHECK (ZT And RH)
-interesting blade grinds - Matter of opinion, but we'll say CHECK
-overbuilt knives - CHECK
-knifes that I can easily take apart/modify - I dunno what you find "easy"
-TI scales - CHECK

You might be able to get a good deal on one of the older ones on this very website in the For Sale area.
I dunno about $150, but maybe something just north of that neighborhood...

Alright guys, I really appreciate y'all's opinions. I love the 0560 and 0550, have handled both in person, but $150 is my limit. I really can't pass it. It's for a birthday gift so it's not like I can keep saving. I decided to order 2 knives. I came across the Boker/Anso collab called the Whale. Absolutely love it. Looks beautiful. Also ordered the CRKT Mah Eraser. Both of these look very class and seem to have great reviews. Opinions?

I predict that in twelve months time you will own one (if not both) of the ZTs. ;)

The two knives you've ordered aren't to my taste, but each to their own. But if you know you love the 550 and 560 then that itch isn't going to go away, and if you spend much time on these forums you'll start reading over and over about the superiority of S35VN and Elmax over AUS8 and 440C.

It took me about two minutes to find a ZT550 for $159.99. They come up on the Exchange here at good prices as well. But good luck with your purchases. I hope they exceed your expectations.

(edit: actually kershawguy has Gen 1 ZT550 blems for $135.00. Are you able to cancel the order for the other knives? ;) )

I really appreciate how nice everyone is on this forum. I really respect that. thank you for your opinions. I completely agree with you how Elmax and S35 are muchhh better than the 440Cs and AUS8. but to me, the ZTs are just a little boring. I want to have a collection that has knives that most people don't have. Knives that are designed by makes that I truly respect. hell, i would own their work if I could, I just simply can't afford it. I will eventually come across a 0550 or 560 at a gun show one of these days and pick it up. it just doesn't have a total wow factor for me. I really respect Zero Tolerance knives, they are great. my 0200 is very stout, but I also like knives with a little more personality. thanks for all the help guys and i will let you know my opinions of the knives coming in the mail!
