Otterbox? Pelican? Apple? I want good protection and versatility. I grabbed a wireless Logitech keyboard yesterday. Now I need a good case. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I like my Saddleback Leather case.

In my honest opinion I think the Otterbox cases are ridiculous. They make the tablet huge. A small laptop would be better over that over sized case. :thumbdn:

I have 2 cases and a net book sized laptop bag for my iPad. My expected circumstances determines what my iPad will be wearing. A slim leather cover is perfect for office use, the Otter Box defender is great when outdoors. It never goes naked, but still looks brand new despite being close to a year old.

Let your circumstances determine how you clothe your iPad. Or be fashionable... ;)

i use a strange combination of a griffin survivor case (picked it over the otterbox because the otterbox doesn't have a full screen protector) and a 5.11 tablet case, to protect it even further.

It does make it bulky but it's still way slimmer than when I had my MBP in a similar enclosure to protect it. I don't know if I would recommend going this way unless you're rough on stuff like I happen to be and will be dragging it all over creation with you :)

I guess if I only kept mine at home I would just get the cool little magnetic fold back case that apple sells in their store...

I'm leaning towards this sort of set-up. I tend to be a little rough on gear at times and not so much at other times. I'm thinking an Otterbox defender for school and field work and a nice leather case for office / home type environments. Any alternatives to the Otter case? Pros and cons?

I bought a Saddleback case for mine and I love it. The only thing is that it's such a tight fit I can't get it out! I was going to get an Otterbox so I could throw it in the Jeep but that ain't happening. The Saddleback is tough, I'll probably just put it in a Ziplock and go from there.

Hi Tech, eh?

I bought a black Bodhi leather case on sale for like 30% off. It looks nice in the pics. I'll let you know what I think of it when it arrives. Still contemplating the Otterbox deal for rough and tumble situations. I am also thinking of a clear film screen protector. Anybody use one of those?

Here's one I just made....nothing fancy, just tough.

^ That thing looks pretty sweet, RB. Any opinions on the film screen protector products?

I got a Zagg invisible shield. It supposed to be good. I'll let you know what I think. Should arrive by early next week.

I have the Zagg on both the front and back of my iPad 2. I also have the Saddleback leather case. It's a tight fit but the leather will stretch in time. So far I'm very happy with both.

I have an otterbox reflex 3 piece case I purchased on amazon....$40 isn't bad considering a basic screen cover from apple is $30.

When I looked around I wanted protection that wasn't bulky, the reflex fit the bill and the sound channel make it better to watch movies on. I keep a micro fiber cloth laying across the screen with the front cover on so its always with me.

I finally got around to firing up this tablet. It's very cool. I put the plastic shield on front and back and slipped it into my Bodhi Italian leather case with no problem. My mom bought me a nylon pouch from Wenger of all companies at the local Walmart. The slim leather case fits perfectly inside the Wenger Swiss-gear pouch if I need added protection. And I'm typing this post on a Logitech bluetooth keyboard. Pretty cool. It is like a little netbook. Thanks for the responses, folks. -DT

Now I need a little wireless mouse. Any suggestions? Maybe Logitech?

This one!! http://www.marware.com/c-e-o-hybrid-ipad-2-case

They are $49 on this web site but I found them on Amazon or emay, cant recall where... and paid about $55 for two of them... one for me, one for the wife. We have had them for about 3-4 months I guess.... both of us LOVE this case!! Works and looks super! Plus, they have super customer service. i have read of 1 or 2 people who had tiny flaws and the company immediately sent replacements!!

I'm sold on the one.... really nice fit too.

This is what i use, great if you are rough on gear, and better than the Otterbox Defender as it has built in full screen protector.

I use one as well. Great if you want a tough, no nonsense case. Agreed better then an otter box.

Agreed, Otterbox wasn't up to my standards this time around. I went with the Saddleback leather case and I dig it. The quality you can expect with Saddleback.
