Hey guys,

I don't have a Para-Military 2 in my collection! I know, shocking, right?

So help me pick one! There's such a blizzard of options now I can't decide.

I prefer plain steel blades but other than that, I'm not especially fussy. I was keen on a CruWear blade for a while but not sure now. I'd love one of the Magnacut ones but they come at a premium.

Exclusives are tricky for me because I'm not in the US and most dealers don't ship abroad (except Knifecenter and DLT). Preferably under $200 cos I'm poor. 😂

Honestly...? With all the variety available for those who are stateside, I'm still set on an S45VN & digicam for my next Para 2. 'Course, I already have Cruwear, S35VN, and K390, as well as a regular S30V. I don't think you'll get a $200 Para 2 overseas. That's near the price for a new one here. If you're going to lay out the $ for a Para 2 regardless, I can speak well of the K390 exclusive from Bento Box Shop. 2 years on now and it's been a wonder to carry and use. No corrosion, almost no actual stoning, just stropping. No regrets. My S35VN Para is probably the most "all-round" Para 2 because of the SS blade. Absolutely no corrosion worries with it and it's been a bit easier to maintain over the S30V that's my EDC. The Cruwear is memento of my visit to the SFO and is mainly a safe queen. I'll add a Para 3 Crucarta when it comes out, but they'll mostly get looked at and fondled. I have no interest in the Salt Magnacut version... yet!

If I were looking for a new one I would get the MagaCut to use as another fishing knife. That being said, you will be happy with any of them. Good luck with your search.

CTS-BD1 or CPM-SPY27 are two steels offered that are reasonably priced from what I’ve seen. You can go look on the Spyderco forum and get the info for the various steels Spyderco offers. For normal use either of these steels will perform well.

If you're not picky, the standard PM2 in S45VN is excellent. The only reason to not get that one is if you want a different one.

The CruCarta PM2 is very cool. Probably the best option for something different compared to the rest of the PM2 line with the micarta scales.

Thanks all! I'm currently eyeing a CruWear one that I think was a Knifecenter special. Smooth G10 and CruWear combo. Haven't got any CruWear in the line-up. Its uncoated but I prefer that. Would very much like a M4/tan G10 version which was a BladeHQ exclusive, I think. But they command a premium now.
