hi im new here and after a new blade short list is mod mark 1,mark 11,or extrema ratio mpc or ? can you help me
thanks paul UK

Paul, welcome to Bladeforums! :D

I've got the MOD CQD, CQD Mark II, and the Extrema Ratio Nemesis, which is exactly like the MPC but with a narrower blade. In a class with those would be the original Buck/Strider folder or a real Strider folder: SnG, SMF, or AR. For most purposes, a large Sebenza is real tough, also.

What are you looking fro specifically, in terms of what the knife would have to do for you?

Hi Esav Thanks Alot I Climb, hike, trek And Also Go Hunting As Well As Other Things

I also should have asked how big your hand is. The CQD handle is huge and the CQD Mark II is much easier to hold and not much shorter a blade. Same goes for the Buck/Strider large and mini. While the Striders are supposed to be as tough as knives can be, I'd say the ER MPC is right up there with them, and a few dollars less.

All of them have nonslip grips designed into the handle shape. One thing I like about the MOD knives is, when I'm in the mood to carry the CQD, I can switch to the Mark II when I only want a smaller knife and back to the big one for heavier use, and I'm still using the same basic design.

Just going by the three knives you asked about, I would recommend the MPC over the other two for outdoors use. They all have great lock-up and strong blades and pivots. They all have secondary locks, too, to make sure the primary doesn't fail. Folding fixed blades. :)

The MOD have specialized butts, for cutting seatbelts or breaking glass, which you really don't need. The MPC butt is a hammer, for real. The MPC is fine for a big hand and no trouble for a smaller hand, too.

hi esav
the price of the mark 1 is $341.89
,, ,, mark 11 is $286.43
,, ,, mpc is $411.68
whitch is the best price
thanks paul

Ouch. You guys get killed on prices over there. At least $100 too much each. I know you can't get shipping from a lot of companies here, and the euro has got to come down a bit, too.

You might check out our Exchange forums for sales or trades at a much better price. All these knives do come up from time to time. I got my Mark I for $100, Mark II for a $125 trade, and Nemesis for $265.
