I have a PM2, a delica 4 and a tenacious. I have around $50-$70 that I would like to put towards my next spyderco. I am considering the endura, dragonfly, centofante. What would best add to my collection (mostly on a user level).

Thanks in advance.

Based on what you have I'd say try a Dragonfly. Specifically the Salt version (H1 steel) in serrated edge configuration. H1 is especially well suited to serrated edges, will not rust no matter what you do to it, and is a great companion blade to pair with a larger plain edge Spydercos. Some tasks are just more easily done with a serrated edge, and Spyderco's serration pattern is awesome. I almost guarantee you that if you buy one you'll wonder why you never carried a smaller serrated Spydie at the same time as one of your larger plain edge models. They complement each other better than I can easily describe.

I have strongly been considering the dragonfly. I have thought about getting the ZDP-189. Since summer is upon us I was considering the dragonfly might be an excellent lightweight EDC.

Definitely purchase a Dragonfly.
One of the most underrated Spydercos...in my opinion.

Dragonfly 2, no ZDP....H1 all the way.

Look again at 3rdGenRiggers photo again, he cut a stinking workboot in half with the little sucka.....I bought one a couple of months ago, when I saw THAT picture!

Oh, and get some emerald green RIT dye at the grocery, British Racing Green serrated DF2's are neato.

hi, i think all collectors of spyderco's should have a MANIX 2 ! for another $17. or $85. total you could get the G-10 version, vary tuff/well made knife for the cost, good luck.

Thanks Razzle (Good to see one of my posts had some effect lol), but it's not a work boot...leather hiking shoe, though it did have a stiff plastic sole plate that took some sawing to get through. I did the other with my CruWear Millie, but the sawing motion especially helped the DFly tear through it with more ease than my Military. H1 is also very damage resistant. I used it as an impromptu drywall knife...we didn't have one handy so we used a skill saw set shallow (~3/4 of the way through the drywall) and my DFly did the rest. Dulled it quite substantially, but H1 sharpens up very well. It does show scratches easily, but I like seeing the scratches. Trust me, if you buy one you'll wonder why you never carried two knives before. I sure do, and make it a special point to carry a serrated knife alongside my primary carry just for the added versatility. And there's no better way to get into serrated H1 than the Dragonfly...except maybe the Ladybug...depends on your POU, but the H1 Hawkbill Ladybug is also worthy of separate consideration.

Here's some of my fav fanged Spydies.

At the bottom is the Dragonfly 2 Salt H1 SE in yellow. Above it are the Delica in ZDP-189 SE, the Tasman Salt Hawkbill SE, and Native SE.

Don't like yellow? Dye it Orange, Green, Blue, whatever. ;)

Have a PM2, Delica and Tasman. G10 Dragonfly, ROC and Military are on my radar the rest of the year. The Dragonfly being next in line, so that's my vote. :D

What colors have people dyed their dragonfly salts. Anyone have pics? I would be very willing to purchase it if I knew I could change the color. So, if anyone has done it, post a pic here.

I don't know where you are looking but last time I checked the G10 manix was around $100-$110.

I like zdp-189 better than H1 but both are great. I would go with the zdp Dragonfly.

Here's a pic of my H1 Tasman that I dyed orange with some stripes. Orange is the only color that I've done and it turned out better than I thought it would.

Before I even finished reading you're entire post, I was thinking: 'For that money, I'd buy another Dragonfly.' I'm glad its on your list for consideration because I, like many others it seems, wholeheartedly recommend it. Until you handle one, you just cannot grasp how much of an ergonomic wonder it is. Whether you have big hands or tiny ones, it fits. G10 version notwithstanding, it weighs essentially nothing. It disappears in pocket. And, unless you require your knife to play a self-defense role, it could probably serve all your EDC knife needs, easy. Check one out.
