Help me sort out the ZT055*

When I first saw the ZT0551, I liked it, but it just didn't hook me. Recently I saw a photo of it next to a Griptilian and I saw that it's...relatively EDCable compared to many other ZT offerings. But there's a lot I don't understand.

What's the difference between the 0550 and the 0551? Can someone post more size comparison pics? I hear one of these is limited edition, and I assume given the size of these threads they're already sold out. What will the full production change? What's the ETA of the full production?

Sorry, I know all this data is out there, but despite real efforts on google, the 5000+ reply threads bury the relevant data.

And I'm also curious on how it compares to the Benchy 755.

Its about the size of a 0350. The 0550 is not finalized yet but from what has been said the steel will be S35VN and the G-10 will be different. The 551 was a sprint run with brick pattern G-10 and ELMAX blade steel.
 
man, that's too bad. Once I realized how "small" the 551 was compared to the rest of the ZT lineup I was really interested. Oh well, maybe one will show up down the road.
 
I didn't know they were changing the grip, too. That's a relief; I didn't like the brick pattern compared to the prototype photos. Too bad they're not sticking with ELMAX, though...
 
I was looking forward to the Vanax 35 blade on the ZT 0550 so that I could have a hard use folder with a nitrogen steel. Due to availability, the Vanax 35 has apparently been replaced with CPM S35VN, which is a great steel but isn't a nitrogen steel. Apples and oranges . . .
 
I really liked the brick pattern...but as long as they don't just go with plain G10 I might still be in for this one. But i'm not going to hold my breath
