Ok, I have about 175.00 from Christmas that's burning a hole in my pocket. So, I'm looking for some suggestions on what to get. The reason I'm asking you guys is that I seem to keep looking at the same knives over and over, when I know that there's so much more out there. I sold off most of my knives about a year ago, and all that I have left is a Benchmade 942, an Ontario RAT 2, a Case peanut and pen, and a Leatherman Juice S2 and Micra. The knives must be lefty friendly, and not be to big ( I just sold a Benchmade 710 due to its size). Other than that, I'm open to all suggestions.

In my opinion, impulse buying is never a good thing, since you dont seem to need anything in particular.

I'd save it but if it (honestly) is burning a hole in your pocket then give it to some random person in need, for example. You'll feel better having spent it on something useful and you'll think again twice before impulse-buying again. Make somebody happier.

If this is to cheesy for your manly perception of life then try spending that money in some activity you would like, such as a roadtrip or bungee jumping or parachute diving or you know, just something of your liking.

Trust me, endless insatisfaction awaits those who buy anything just because they have the money.

How about something spyderco, since we are into knives, collecting knives, if you don't like it you can always trade it.

What are you looking for in a knife, size, opening mechanism, could wait for some spyderco sprint runs. Give us some more info please.

How about a nice smallish fixed blade in a pocket sheath? Different from most of what you got...

Inspired - that's what I was looking for, something that I never would have thought of. I'll have to check that one out. I do love SAKs, and the ZDP delica I had was awesome.

I small fixed blade could be really cool too. I've never had one. I had an ESEE 4 in the past, but nothing small enough to carry on a daily basis. Is the Izula 2 small enough to carry in your front pocket, or does it need to go on your belt?

For $12, check out the Svord Mini Peasant knife (with plastic handles). Wood would cost a little more. It's an all-around utility cutter with no frills besides the color of the handle. It's just a blade mounted in a handle. Very pocket friendly. To see how to easily open and close, watch the first minute of my video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRSFC--GDkI

I think a Spyderco is going to be on of your best bets to me. If you do not mind a compression lock which is ambi in a way. When I think of Lefty I always think about the lock mostly and most Spydercos also have 4 way positional pocket clips.

The Benchmade mini griptilian is a great knife, and you can customize it on the Benchmade site for about 150. You can select your blade steel, blade style, etc. Highly recommend it!

Dog Star - I've been wanting to check out one of those smaller ones for a while. Good call.

Seems to me you left yourself with a solid, working battery of EDC tools. Do you feel like there's a niche you need to fill, or you just want something different?

Victor - there's really nothing missing, I just want something new/different. The only thing I don't really have is a fixed blade, and I don't have much use for one except for a small pocket size one. I'm really considering the Izula or izula 2

If you are looking for a small fixed blade try the BK11 / BK 24. Very similar to the Izula but less of a strain on your pocket book.

Oh I love these! 175 to spend, I'd recommend what is on my wish list:

Buck 110 (30 bucks)
Buck Vantage Pro (60 bucks)
Becker BK 15 (70 bucks)

If you're looking for 175 bucks into one blade, Spyderco Paramilitary 2 all the way.
