Well, guys. I've got some cash left over and I'd like to spend it. I'm drooling over that ZT0560, have it on preorder, but it's going to be a long wait. I'm considering getting the ZT0550 to just hold myself off till I get that 0560, but I don't want it to be a waste. I don't want to buy the 0550 and then the 0560 completely kick it out of my pocket forever.

Second consideration was a BM 51 Morpho. I just recently got back into flipping, bought a Kimura 6, but I keep telling myself I need to get something better. Only gripe about the 51 is that I don't think I should have to pay $185 bucks for a knife I'll have to continously put loc-tite on and all that. I've been flipping my Kimura for atleast a month, constantly, and the only screw to get loose is the one holding the latch. I don't know, but you guys can school me on it.

I'm really open-minded to anything. I don't have any specific reasons or purposes I want this knife to fill. Just want to spend some money.Show me some cool stuff, guys. Let's set the limit at $200, but can stretch to $300.

Thanks.

This may help a tad. Prices aren't very accurate but has a run down on all their knives
The 560 is better than the 550 but the 2 aren't too far apart

Thanks, man, but I know the prices and specs. I have the 0560 on preorder, and was worried about dropping $200 on the 0550 and then the 0560 coming and kicking it out my pocket for good. Do you own both knives?

only the ZT200ST. I know those 2 you have in mind theoretically only

Maybe go lower than the 550?

My pic would be a LionSpy but it is at your max budget limit.

i wouldnt get a stupidly expensive knife. id go with a knife for around 50-60, and get more than one of them. some to abuse, some for pampering. get a bunch of:
SOG Twitch 2
SOG flash 1/2
Cold Steel Mini AK-47
Buck bantams (WAY cheap, decent quality)
SAK's
anything well priced. that way there they can be abused

This isn't going to help immediate gratification, but if you want a Bali, I would pre-order a BM62.

If you want something now, the 550 is a great knife, but maybe you should go for something a little different from the 560 like a Para 2 or something. That way it will compliment the 560, not get replaced by it.

To the Lionspy, I keep seeing several people saying they wish they would have never bought the LionSpy. Maybe because of the 0560 coming, but I have seen it said more than once. Plus, the price on those is just overpriced is my opinion.

I thought about getting a few cheap knives, but I already own alot of cheap ones that don't even see any use. They've been sitting in the drawer for awhile now. Like I said, I am completely open to any suggestions. From $1 to $300.

Also, I already own a PM2 that gets used daily so I'm already drinking that Kool-Aid. I thought about the BM62, but I just don't think I'll like a balisong that long. If I'm not mistaken, isn't it going to be a bit longer than the 42? I'm worried about paying that kind of cash for a balisong I possibly can't even flip or like and have to re-sell it it someone. I will take all of these things into consideration, though. I'm more interested in something I can buy right now, not pre-order. The 0560 has me sick of pre-orders right now.:D

or you could buy a knife with no blade play that is made in the usa. almost all of those knives are bogous bullshit other than SAKs. i buy expensive knives and they get abused all of the time. you pay for quality and toughness so the blade will last. and if you pamper any of those knives that you listed than i dont understand why? an xm-18,xm-24,SmF,sabenza,0500,0300,0560 ETC... are built to last alot longer than that garbage. sorry for bing somewhat of a jerk but ALL SOG'S are garbage AND their is nothing i hate more than cheep chinease made shit putting U.S citizens out of work.

AS IT PERTAINS TO THE THREAD: the 550 is a good knife but it is so close to the 0560 that you might burn out on the 0560 pre maturley because you have ben carrying such a similar knife for a long time. maby a usa made spyderco or a nice emerson. i like the comander,cqc15 and the cqc11. if you want a smaller blade maby the mini comander?

+1, for me, doesn't have to be US made but why buy a piece of crap when there are so many nice affordable knives, a lot that are US made.

Yeap. I didn't pay all that money to sit there and stare at it. If it sits, it goes...

and if you pamper any of those knives that you listed than i dont understand why?

Lol yeah, wtf?

To the fellow asking about the fixed blade, yes. I EDC a BK14 IWB sometimes and also around the neck. All I could ever want from a fixed blade EDC.

imbryan715. I did not list any of those knives. That was the other guy. I don't buy "cheap" knives. Yes, they may be cheap in price but they are always well made to the point I can abuse them. I don't buy a knife without extensive research, even if it only costs $30 bucks. Call me a tightwad. About the "babying" the knife, I don't do that. I'm tough on all my knives unless their intended purpose was to collect. I use my knives. They're tools and tools aren't made to just look at. My collection pieces fall under "art" though. Thank you for your input about the 0550 and 0560. You may be right and I would hate to do that, especially after waiting for the 0560 for so long. Also, I totally didn't think about Emerson. I havn't owned an Emerson in years and I will definately add that to the consideration list. So now, it lies at 0550, BM 51, or an Emerson. I would try another Spyderco, but everytime I go looking at different ones I always just say "Well...my PM2 can do that, just as good." and I talk myself out of the purchase.

Crimsonfalcon07. Thank you for your suggestion. I wasn't very aware of the DDR's. I've seen them, heard of them, but never really paid it much attention. I may just have to check one of these out aswell. Are there any certain models you would suggest? Also, shoot me an email if you have any leads on where to purchase. Thanks.

About the USA made thing. I'm the same way, guys. I fully support all USA made products, but there's just some things that you can't find USA made. Go through your house and check your forks, your socks, your TV, etc. You can't criticize someone for buying a foreign made product, yet you do it yourself daily. I'm not being a jerk, but I'm just trying to prove the point that it's not always possible, let alone desirable to purchase all USA made products. I've bought plenty of USA made knives that were junk. Some foreign made knives are actually very well-made, and those are the ones I usually choose to buy, not the cheap crappy foreign stuff.

Thanks for the help, guys. I am still open for more suggestions. Also, what would you guys say is the most popular knife in the Emerson line?
